Is-sinjal għal BANDISTA għandu żewġ partijiet li jsiru biż-żewġ idejn. (i) L-ewwel l-idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ A laxka. L-idejn jagħmlu moviment ta’ ċapcipa imma bl-idejn jaħbtu ma’ xulxin minn ħdejn il-polz. Id waħda titla’ u oħra tinżel biex il-linja tal-moviment taċ-ċapċipa tkun djagonali. (ii) Imbagħad l-idejn jinfetħu bil-pala tħares ’l isfel u l-idejn jitilgħu u jinżlu, id taħt l-oħra, bis-swaba’ jperpru bħallikieku qed idoqqi xi strument tan-nifs.
Varjazzjoni ta’ dan is-sinjal issir b-id waħda forma ta’ 5 bil-pala tħares laġenba. L-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ A qisha qed iżżomm il-bastun jew mazzarell li bih jindaqq it-tanbur. Din l-id tersaq b’salt lejn l-id il-wieqfa bħal biex tolqot it-tanbur. Varjazzjoni oħra issir biż-żewġ idejn li jieħdu l-forma ta’ 5 miftuħ u milwi u bis-swaba’ jiċċaqilqu qishom qed idoqqu xi strument tan-nifs.
The sign for BAND PLAYER has two parts made with both hands. (i) First the hands form a loose A shape. They make a clapping movement but with the hands hitting each other close to the wrist. One hand moves up and the other down so that the line of movement forming the clap is a diagonal one. (ii) Then the hands open up with the palms facing downwards and the hands move up and down, one hand below the other, with the fingers fluttering as though playing a wind instrument.
A variation of this sign is made with one hand in the shape of 5 with palm facing sideways. The other hand takes the shape of A as though it were holding a drumstick. This hand moves abruptly towards the stationary hand as though to hit the drum. Another variation is made with both hands in the shape of open, bent 5 with the fingers moving as though playing a wind instrument.
